Pool Buoy
We at the Mates Rates office owe our mates Pool Buoy an apology. We quite strongly believed that nothing could make our neighbour Graeme look classy while he drank tinnies in a kiddie pool on his nature strip. But then we bought him a Pool Buoy pool, cooler, and towel to wrap around his waist, and we can honestly say it has improved the views from our office by 17%.
Pool Buoy have taken sharp designs usually reserved for luxury items, and added them to very affordable inflatable pools, towels, caps, coolers and pool toys. The result is a hugely popular range that will turn any pool party into a potential fashion shoot. Or in our case, turn a drunk, partially-naked 68-year-old eyesore, into a slightly less offensive eyesore!

For buoyant personalities.
Pool Buoy was founded by Rae Maxwell, owner and creative director of interiors and furniture design brand Barnaby Lane.
With a young family and being a 'big kid' she constantly found fun in kiddie alternatives over summer - inflatable pools, slip and slides, the simple garden hose and sprinkler even gets a run! Having three summer babies she'd often host inflatable pool parties.
Owning and creating Barnaby Lane, an Aussie interior and furniture design brand got her thinking - why are there not any stylish, and well made inflatable pools in the market? Add in a case of Covid house fever* (*not a real thing), dreaming of the Italian holiday they'd just forfeited and
you have a creative melting pot for someone who needs an outlet.
After all, we all need a bit of fun at the moment!
