Social Impact

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’d know that Clothing The Gaps is more than just a streetwear label — it's merch with a message. Based on Wurundjeri Country, this certified Aboriginal social enterprise and B-Corp is run by health professionals who are passionate about driving change and starting important conversations.

Clothing The Gaps proves that when you wear your values, you help create real impact. A powerful play on “Closing the Gap,” the brand supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities by sparking awareness and action.

Our mates at CTG were the first people we ever told about our idea for Mates Rates, over a cuppa at their old store on Sydney Road (across the street and up a bit from their new store on Sydney Road!). They were the very first brand to jump on board with Mates Rates back in 2023, and they’ve been incredibly supportive of us ever since. We love ‘em ❤️

Our Mates never pay full price at Clothing the Gaps. Not a member yet? Join now for free.

It's more than a tee, it's a conversation starter.

Clothing The Gaps is a Victorian Aboriginal led and controlled, and majority Aboriginal owned social enterprise, co-founded by Laura Thompson (Gunditjmara) and Sarah Sheridan (non-Indigenous).

Based in Melbourne/ Narrm, Clothing The Gaps make clothes with their mob in their heart and everyone in mind. They label their clothes Ally Friendly and Mob Only because everyone was asking “Can I wear that?”.

Clothing The Gaps is certified as a Victorian Aboriginal business with Kinaway Chamber of Commerce Victoria and certified as an Aboriginal business with Supply Nation. They hold an Ethical Clothing Australia accreditation, and became a certified B Corporation in 2022.
